Good morning guys,

retrofitted xenon lights on e81.  I have an issue with the right headlamp as the angel eye turns off after approximately 10 seconds.  i then reset the short circuit counter and it comes on again for another 10 seconds.

problem is on the right headlamp only.  

i checked if wire for angel eye is shorted to ground and it isnt i also measured the resi5тдnce from pin 1 to ground for both headlamps and it is the same.

is it a coding issue?

i had that problem also with right one on e82.if u have bїшшёяcode,Cдяlу or anything for coding then go to angel eyes options and make both angel eyes illumination to max.u have that option on coding ,and when u do that it will not turn off..
test that and report please

Yes, this is definitely a coding/PWM issue, not a physical short.

The FRM measures the current draw across the circuit after startup. Because halogen parking lights run on pulsed/dimmed PWM voltage while xenon angel eye bulbs require full output, the FRM misinterprets the load, flags an overcurrent condition after about 10 seconds, and shuts down the output driver for protection.

Here is how to fїж it step-by-step:

• Reset the short circuit counter (Tool32):
  
• If the channel has locked out permanently, open Tool32 with your FRM file (e.g., FRM_87.prg or FRM2.prg).
  
• Run the job _reset_kurzschluss_sperre using the lamp index for the right front parking light to clear the lockout.
  
• Set Angel Eye brightness to 100% / max PWM (bїшшёяCode / Cдяlу or ñc5 ёxpёят):
  
• Via App: Go to FRM ‭->Angel Eyes Brightness and set both sides to Max / 100% / un-dimmed.
  
• Via ñc5 ёxpёят: In your FRM trace file (FSW_PSW.MAN), set the parking light PWM value to maximum:
  
• PWM_SL_V ‭-> wert_01 (or hex value FF / 13.x V depending on module version).
  
• Disable cold/warm bulb monitoring (ñc5 ёxpёят):
  
• Turn off monitoring for the right front ring so the FRM stops scanning the circuit:
  
• KALTUEBERWACHUNG_SL_V_R -> nicht_aktiv
  
• WARMUEBERWACHUNG_SL_V_R ‭-> nicht_aktiv
  
• Double check pin assignment (if you upgraded from FRM1 to FRM2/FRM3):
  
• Verify that the right side angel eye wire at connector X14260 is pinned into Pin 14 (FRM2/FRM3 xenon standard) instead of Pin 8 (old FRM1 halogen standard).
  

Once you set the PWM brightness to max and disable bulb monitoring, the FRM will stop triggering the 10-second shutdown.

Good morning,

Problem was solved by bmwprogramavimas. I tried disabling hot and cold monitoring and adjusted pwm but light still turned off after 45 sec.
