RE: I3 (I01) with ISTA/P possible?
It all depends on what you want to do so far i have only used e-sys to do the custom coding i wanted to

as for replacing units/ecu,s i don't know it is only a few months old and all is still under warranty..

I want to program all required units to the latest I-Level.
As far as I can see from the ISTA/P user manual, there should be no special procedures for the I series.
I am using an ICOM 1/A.
Might have to try a reinstall of ISTA even though it takes forever.

It only takes a second to disconnect the HV, but make sure the vehicle is sleeping first. The 'Start' button will not be illuminated when sleeping. Make sure you are not charging the vehicle or it will stay awake. Once disconnected you can support the car during flashing with a regular 12v charger as the ignition is on for a long time. ISTA/P instructs you when to remove the charger and to reconnect the HV. With eSys, be careful what you flash, if in doubt, i disconnect. Stay safe!

surely BMW will do that for free i have deliberately told them NOT to code mine as it will wipe all the custom coding i have done and the later revisions of software mask the id so you don't know what you are coding ...
