RE: E91 N43 Engine malfunction - reduced power after ISTA-P 3.58.3.003 flashing

See repair instructions REP-REP RAE9011-1166X01 in ISTA-D. Thanks for this document, very informative. But as another forum member stated in a previous post it'll be solved in a newer ISTA-P version (3.59.2, although I heard from a BMW mechanic it will be 3.59.3 the soonest). So I hope this retrofit action isn't needed, it's a lot of work. And money I guess. Also, I think it's ridiculous that after many years of functioning without any real problems BMW decides my car needs extra parts. |

Only DME was programmed/coded no other changes, but sadly still same problem. Error code 2FD3 - brake vacuum sensor still there. I-level is indeed E89X-16-07-503 now. But 3.59.2 is apparently not the solution for this problem. Another forum member PM'd me and told me he had the same problem with an E91 N43. He managed to flash DME back to older version, with WinKFP Expert Mode. So that's going to be the next step/try for me. But I'm a little hesitant because of possible bricking the DME unit. I do NOT want to do that. After reading a PDF with WinKFP Export Mode instructions, I took al preliminary steps in WinKFP Expert Mode. I used the correct 'older' ZB number to start with (7648546) and 57.2 daten, this showed the DME is MSD812. But coming to the final step (just before starting Program) I got this error: Error 503: Wrong Program Version DS: IB, ECU: ID0S So now I would like know: is this error because of flashing back to older version, or is it something else? I hope someone can help me further with this. |

Go to the dealership... they will mount a brake vacuumsensor on your car.. It's all free, because all n43 engine has to go to the dealer for a recall. This includes mounting a brake vacuumsensor and programming the car to 3.59.2.

I'm still waiting for answers from a local BMW mechanic (in The Netherlands). Seems this recall is not current in every country.. Problem is I don't want to inform dealership about my own upgrade to 3.59.2. They don't like that. |

Okay guys,
Long story short: - there will be a recall for N43 vacuum sensor retrofit but this will be in fases, so it can take some time. Currently no recall for my car sadly; - today I managed to flash DME back to older version (57.2) with WinKfp Expert Mode, and for now vacuum sensor error is gone! |
