As i had before written https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.p...#pid404127, on ISTA+ version 4.15.16 i programmed car via ENET. Starting the procedure was buggy and syrprisely, but i did it.
By this version also coding is inposssible with ENET. This seems weird. By Esys allowed both- coding and programming with ENET.

Installing this on a virgin install of windows 10 1809 with vinmod It ran without Regfix files or net framework.  What is needed exactly to run this !???

.NET is included in win10.
Only needs license to run.

Hi there, ISTA newbie here.
Trying to get this to work on a older Windows 8 tuning laptop and not having much luck. The msi file needs .NET framework 4.7 installed, which Windows 8 doesn't support, so probably need to update to Windows 8.1 to get .NET 4.7

Also does this standalone version require the use of the ISTA Launcher Console?

I tried to run via ISTAGUI.exe and the program opened OK and was able to read some vehicle details using ENET cable, but couldn't do or access anything else.
(Trying to register replaced car battery for a start)

There is a lot of info on this forum, but it seems to be all disjointed and scattered throughout many posts in many threads.
Is there a good FAQ a beginner can read on getting started with ISTA / Rheingold?

Look in C:/Rheingold/Help   folder and select the PDF in the language of your choice.

There are two ways of installing this :
With Ilean License and admin client and ISTA Launcher installed. Then you install with .msi (for license look in selling box)
Standalone, Then you need to install (Extract)Base Standalone Files and put in SQLite , BLP manualy For diagnoses. If you also want to do coding and programming also SDP data is needed.

I think that you can install NET Framwork 4.7.2 on  windows 8, I installed it on windows 7 proffesional.

After updating to Windows 8.1 and .NET 4.7 the Standalone 4.15.23 seems to work now.
This was without having successfully run the Launcher (lots of errors) and the .msi file included with this download as it also exited with an error before completion.

Was able to register a new battery, and review and clear all stored fault codes.

A big thanks to Spider80 for making this available and thanks to Mrg0721 for hosting the large files on MEGA.

Oh man! Can't believe this, just spent a couple of days downloading all the files and setting everything up just to read there's errors with R60 mini! I should have just stayed with version 4.09.13

Does anyone know what happens if you try to use newer psdzdata and SqlDBs with old Ista software? I am just doing diagnostic and service function. No programming.

You do not need SDP and BLP for diagnostic. Newer SqlDBs do not work in older Ista+
