In pre-fl AMG cluster (W204,212), after enabled RPM bar,
there is also a "RPM limit indicator" (red zone).
the bar will shorted upon engine oil temperature reach 80°






RPM limit bar can also enable in non-AMG cluster.
(preheat lamp fixed)

Hi,

can somebody please explain to me how to directly hex edit the instrument cluster.

I have a SD Connect C4, Vediamo, DTS Monaco and Xentry.

I read in other threads something about FDVI tool and the pictures exactly looks like i need, IC code displayed complete in hex and there is also a possibility to save config as a bin dump - perfect
Am I able to use this tool with SD Connect (don't think so because found no information about) or what tools can i use with this unit to achive an active AMG Menu ?

With SD connect you can inject the "wrong" CFF files into your instrument cluster using Vediamo or DTS Monaco. After that you can use FVDI to change the Hex file right into the cluster. Then you go back to Vediamo or DTS Monaco and re-inject the original CFF files. You then reset your cluster and will get the AMG menu.

Hi, for AMG menu activation you can do by changing EEPROM address or other device like MBTOOL.
i've tried for some cluster by changing EEPROM address.
for w211: in offset 000210 byte 212 and 213 change to FF FF that are 50 28
for colorful display like W204: in offset 0001D0 first byte change FC that is FF but in your cluster CNG light and work instead of ESP.

If you do it with C4 kind of device,
you need seedkey.
some said it is way to bypass it,
but don't know how.

Hello. My car is W204 MY2008 with monochrome 3 pot cluster.I was trying with 10 20 - no luck, trying with FC same thing, trying with 60 - nope. Then look at my cluster SW version and see that is 07/33. Update it with Vediamo to 08/xx but again no luck. What can be the problem?

the best solution is to buy a one-time activation on mbtools. prices are very reasonable
