Maybe you are confusing the purpose of ISTA Launcher Console, it’s used to install the SDP (programming data) packages on a working ISTA 4.

I got the same message as you yesterday, but I ended up doing it manually to get ISTA+ 4.01.22 working what I did was ( and Thanks to a member here ) I downloaded the right sqlitedbs and put it manually into the new rheingold and did a cleaner, restarted, applied the .reg re applied license and BOOM it worked right up...


So you have you old Rheingold that you'll re name it as _OLD and in the new one you will put the the SQLiteDBs, then run Rcleaner, then reboot, then .Reg and finally launch the ISTA and re apply the license and you should be ready to go, this solution is by far the best, cause with the other one I was always experiencing issue with.

It looks the LauncherConsole is not working properly to some of us.

I continually have 'install directory does not exist' but i edit the .reg file and put in the location.
But when i run the program it looks somewhere else.
How do I get the changes to work?

See what i edit and what it tried in images ....

But when I run the program its still looking in the old locations and cannot find the folder. Even if I create it. What could I do to make it change

Don't have any idea... Perhaps you run a 32 bits system and the reg file is design for x64.
If you run the launcher as it, pszdata will be install into your ISPI\ISTA folder. All you need after will be to move the folder "data_swi"

@pshoey Possible bug report on ISTA Launcher Console v1.0.4:
Got error with the log said access denied to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTALauncher
But I believe ISTA Launcher Console access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTALauncher only?
And on v1.0.3 is working properly.

I have 32bit system, do you think this is why the regedit does not work for me and the launcher cannot locate the files and folders, even when I create what it looks for?

I can't get the install directory to change to C:Rheingold
Edited in the register.
Still it looks for the wrong place, C:\Program Files\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTA
I created it where it looks, but still can't do it?

You probably have the wrong version. try with last 1.0.4

Have tried 1.0.4 same issue, editing the .reg file and then running and it does not change the settings in the application when running.

What am I missing, or is this a 32bit problem?

For those of you running on 32bit Windows, my apologies, (generally - who would run 32bit windows these days) but specifically the reg file is for 64bit windows - just edit the reg file and remove Wow6432Node from the path.

Next release I'll include a 32bit compatible reg file.

I have a problem, when i start the program, there is a message, that extracting failed. I don´t know why. The XML file and istapackes are in the Folder C:\Temp\ISTA_ Store\ Downloads.

Must i put files of the Launcher in any folder?

in my case, i put files of the ISTA Launcher Console v1.0.4 in d:\folder
Create a new folder at C:\Temp\ISTA_Store\Downloads

Inside this put -
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.01.21.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-SDP_FULL_4.01.15.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-SDP-DELTA_4.01.15.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-SDP-DELTA_4.01.21.istapackage

Run the istalauncher.reg

Using regedit, delete the key LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\ISTA\SWIData and then rerun the launcher console.

My launcher is on Desktop.
i have run reg file from launcher but i don´t have the folder SWIData.
LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\ISTA\
SWIData and then rerun the launcher console.
