Friend of mine have Q5 2016 with HN+EU_AU3G_P0900 firmware..it is necessarily to update firmware before installing 6.25.3 map? Or can we go strait to map update and activation..? Thx for any suggestion.

Hi Guys,

Just updated latest firmware P1001 on my 3GP+ (no SIM) on my A6 C7 2014 It went well and suprisingly fast. I've been doing update from P0770. Never updated anything before.

Hopefully today I will have time to go for the 2017/2018 maps. Can't wait few more weeks until 2018 will be out

PS: Thanks a lot for a comprehensive guide and rich knowledge shared in this thread. I came through it few times to be sure everything will be working as expected and after that the process is basically idiot proof Even invested in CTEK charger to eliminate any problems during the process. Thanks again.

PS2: I have found that the link for the step-by-step guide is for v1.6 however you are mentioning v1.7 (which I have to find elsewhere). I am not aware about changes but maybe it's worth to fix the link in the first post for the newcomers.

Sorry, I've been so busy lately.

I fixed the link to the tutorial in the first post (this is what happens when I copy and paste :P)

Thanks to @benyclaudiu for uploading the new firmware, I've added it to the "big huge folder of firmwares", compressed with RAR without password for simplicity.

I've installed it in my car, where I had the latest version "activated", when updating, the new firmware deletes the "activation", so it has to be re-applied, the update-activate process is quite fast.

Ok we did map update which went fine. Also activation using activator for 3GP from the first post. Activation was resulted as successful but after the reboot navigation doesn't work ("Navigation data are not enabled")...what to do now..?

Ok, problem solved by "itself"..today he just started the car and there was information about installing new map..when it reached 100% everything OK. Map is fully working. Obviously system had to be completely shuttled down and than restarted for successful activation.

Can you PM me the folder location? Is there a good amount of USA firmwares in there? If not I can add some.
