Here is the solution at present jf you want to run Winols 2.24 with genuine winols also installed.

1. Download and Install virtualbox on your pc with administrator rights link 1.
2. Download and run my ready made Virtual Machine from
anywhere on your pc hdd link 2.
3. Use a usb stick or memory card for shared storage between
host and guest OS.

Tested on Win7 x86 x64 all 2.24 checksums active, may work on other OS
use latest winrar.

dont install guest additions otherwise ols doesnt run under a vm

For VmWare:
-Install WinOls but don't start
-Close VM
-Add the following to the *.vmx file:
isolation.tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation.tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation.tools.setVersion.disable = "TRUE"
isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_chksimd = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_ntreloc = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_selfmod = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_reloc = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btinout = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btmemspace = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btpriv = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btseg = "TRUE"

If you want to share files between host and slave keep the original *.vmx and use it just for that. Start WinOls only with the modified *.vmx
