I have done all the following above on an Win7 x64 with ODIS-E 9.0.4 working perfectly... I have cleaned up Win7, removed VCC++, all folders created by install of ODIS-S and even used Revo Uninstaller to remove legacy folders and registry entries and I still cannot install ODIS-S 5.0.6. I get "An error with one of the software components was detected. The ODIS Service installation will be removed again. Uninstalling the vehicle connection (VW MCD, PDU, API) will be attempted first. This may take several minutes. Please contact Support."

Could there be something else that is missing? Java version? timesource NTP not in Sync? I am stumped..

I am having the same issue.  I have removed ODIS 4.4.1, all VC++, Visual Studio, all folders, NET Framework, etc.  Always get that same error while trying to install 5.1.3.

Did you ever solve or does anyone have some suggestions?

I'm trying to install ODIS E 9.0.4 from this torrent download... extracted all of the disc images...install the program, directed it to the license file... then when I start the program itself, I get an error message...

"Error reading the license file. Could not parse certificate
java.io.IOException: Empty input
This license is invalid"

What did I do wrong, OR what is the solution?

I have the same problem, do you have a solution?
