I thought IST P is for programming and that's a total separate program from ISTA D.

Yes ISTA-P is only for programming and ISTA+ (ISTA-D) is for diagnoses and are separate programs. However in the past you had to use ISTA-P for program all BMW vehicles but from version ISTA-P 3.62.0 the programming for F ,I and G series moved to ISTA+(ISTA-D) and only for E serie you have to use ISTA-P now. From version 4.01.xx the programming of F , I and G are intergrated in ISTA+ (ISTA-D) |

Hi Twoone,
I have an e82 2013 and using the K -DCAN OBD, how do I start programming with ISTA P? Do I need a DVD or a USB to upload into STA P to program? I went through the user manual, but when I plug into the it's all blank, it doesn't take me into the ECU/DME tree etc.. any guidance would be great? Also can the DME be flashed by ISTA P or do I need to use Alien Technology for that? not that I am keen to do any mods as lately I have been smelling oil and can;t find the leak. I have replaced all the gasket, valve cover, oil filter, cleaned the intake Valve, plus now when I turn on the air con the car jerks when it comes to a near stop. If I can use a program just to make my car run properly I will be happy enough and I don;t want to modify it to any higher PSI or KW etc... just need it to run smoothly now.  sorry to go all out.. but any guidance would be appreciated as I'm a Noob with BMW and cars..

As far I know, latest ISTA-P with support for flashing F series is then version 3.64.2.000 (~80Gb), the next version 3.65.0.000 is ~28Gb, so much ECU's info has been removed (mainly the F serie). |

ISTA+ flashing executes itself (without any operators intervention) after modules scanning and mesures plan preparation , be careful! Only warns, what must be flashing condisions. If You press ok, then begins! Seems bug. Connection with car via Enet cable.

Try my config. |
