RE: Change VIN in ECU
Hi guys, have not tested the option of changing VIN or ISN in the ECU but what I know for now, the E/F Scanner has a pretty old version of Explorer software and I only could read properly the CAS in the cars which were never updated.

RE: Change VIN in ECU
BMW Explorer can´t all ecu update vin. It´s not a help/tool for all.

Cas can be reeded on table with programmer, change file manually and write program back.

RE: Change VIN in ECU
There are usually two VINs in the CAS eep, the full VIN, and a short VIN in the user info field.
WinKFP will write a new VIN in the User Info field which will show in some diagnostics, but it isn't good enough, so manually changing the VIN is what you need to do.

RE: Change VIN in ECU
Changing VIN will not solve the problem, you need to change ISN /SK.
ISN is 4 digits and can be found in ECUs below 2006.
Sk is 32 digits (128 bits) and can be found in newer models (MSV80, MED17,...)
You must buy a good tool to help you in this, only few tools can do this job perfectly.
