The MFB (multi-function brake light) of R1250GS (MY2021) has different wiring from previous ones.
Until then, the GS used a single wire to control the small light and the lighting during braking using PWM.
New year models have added dedicated wiring for 100% PWM only during braking. It is connected to the center tail lamp.
You will also need an additional harness.

Therefore, even if you add 5AE or 5AF to an older model GS, an error will only occur because there is no dedicated wiring.
By the way, if you remove 5AF after 2021, only the small brake light on the turn signal will light up.

I don't know if the F900XR has any additional wiring.
Please check the wiring diagram yourself.
