VAG Flashdaten usage in ODIS-E
Hello,
Can anyone point me to a tutorial or instructions on how to use certain VAG Flashdaten file with ODIS-E? I have ODIS-E 17 installed and the VAG Flashdaten collection downloaded. How can I update a specific module to a specific file from the flashdaten collection? For example the DSG gearbox tcu, or the bluetooth module. (Skoda octavia vrs 2010) Thank you! |

RE: VAG Flashdaten usage in ODIS-E
Bet you need older datflash files for that..
Put all the files in the datflash folder and see what´s up for an update.. |

Thanks for the reply! I do indeed a lot of DIY, mostly on BMW's and use original icom, ista, etc. I am familiar with VCDS for VAG for years and recently got ODIS-S, but I wanted to get familiar with ODIS-E, and since the information available around is less that for BMW's, I thought I would ask here, where I see are a lot of people that use it properly |

RE: VAG Flashdaten usage in ODIS-E
ODIS-E needs a good PassThru (J2534) or OEM VAS..
If something goes wrong when flashing, VCP "always" helps to flash modules ODIS no longer can.. |

Even if by mistake or just for fun you disconnect the diagnostic device from the car during flashing.............. But when the ECU/s are on KWP protocol (like this of your old Octavia) then for to bring the ECU/s alive on the network if something going wrong you will need to use 'external tuning tools' (if you own the correct ones) or to contact with any special Tuner guy or to buy new ECU and so on.......... Finally do not compare BMW with VAG because not exist any relation....... NONE even in 1%!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!! Regarts......... |

Probably the best way if you never work a lot with VAG is to use tools like VCP or VVDI2 or Abrites (easier) you can use for reflash.

If you look at the hardware part numbers and software version numbers they tell you about the part you’re going to be updating. Also Odis E will check firmware file metadata to look for compatible hardware and it will tell you if the selected file is not for that part. I started flashing basic modules and ended up flashing EMU and brakes. Some considerations:
