I read and write 93c56 megane II cluster with digiprog3 few weeks ago without problem.
(St01,desolder eeprom,read correct value)

I think it was my st01 lead. Got a new one now. Have you ever done scenic 2 clocks. I desoldered the eprom from some old clocks and soldered it to working clocks. But the clocks didn't work after it. I thought i hadn't damaged anything else as it is hidden under the lcd screen.
