Only way is to delete the tuning and the S0777. As we know, just a simple flash with E-Sys is not enough. After the service I install the tuning back. In my eyes the best and simplest way.

The only proven way so far to avoid S0777 after tuning has been to swap in an ‘OEM’/spare DME (AFAIK). I am wondering if you mean for example BM3 ‘flash to stock and re-lock’? Then again, this would require the owner re-bench their car if the car requires a bench unlock for tuning (and still, not sure if this even works).

I flashed from bm3 to stock and re-locked and still ISTA flagged S0777 in and guaranteed the same at the dealership if my car goes in for service and they hook it up. I am convinced I am SOL Thanks for everyone here for sharing their expertise. I did find an OEM genuine BMW parts distributor and the Engine Control Module (DME) is listed at $1,564.10 a piece, I need two. I believe the G60 goes into production this summer, I think I'll wait and use the approach of having 2 sets of DMEs for that car going forward. I just have to learn how swap em in ISTA. Isn't the KeyFob tied to the DME's. Meaning car won't start if you just do a swap?

DME is matched to CAS/BDC/FEM. You will need to change VIN and ISN in DME and maybe working hours if the DME is a different power class.
