Have you checked quality of THE connector - how good does it fits, is there any oxidation? Measure resistance from both sides.
I remember having an A6 C6 with similar issue some months ago - but there was a TPI for this. Connector on the fuel pump inside tank gets loose from time and vibrations, so you had to cut it and solder level sensor directly. |
