Of course it doesn't. All you did was raise a maximum value in the DME flash allowing the engine to not cut fueling until 311km/h, this will only show the analog speedo not being able to show the top end speeds, though it will still be digitally displayed on the KOMBI / HUD.
The coding/programming is(should be) in the KOMBI not the DME. The DME feeds data to the KOMBI but the KOMBI takes the raw data and displays it on the speedometer. The KOMBI would need to be swapped or modified to achieve the rescaling OP is looking for. I've been trying to retrofit an F80 KOMBI in my F30 since 160mph is an incredibly low speed for a car built to 700+ whp. But that's been a struggle too dealing with ZF8 vs DCT transmission differences.

What about Flashing or VO coding the KOMBI with F80 type code? the logic says it will do the job.

Try to code your KOMBI with this type code 3R93, it's an M4 type code.

Anybody can try, it doesn't harm anything.

If anyone has got the 6WB it will show up the difference instantly.

A friend of mine have F10 535d with retrofitted 6WB, after some FDL coding I found option to 300 kmh instead of 260 so I coded it. After few weeks he called me that the speedo on sport mode was running over 260 (car is chipped without speed limiter).
But I don´t know it it is standard behaviour of 6WB dials or the FDL coding did the thing.

It would be nice to find a solution to show on HUD or digital_v option higher speed than 260 on 6WA or standard dials...

Which coding exactly do you think will change 6wb from 260 to 300?

To be honest I don't know already but if you will try too search in FDL editor to 260 you should find some result.
