I'm having problems with installing this 3.59.1.003. I first installed 3.59.0.006 without any problem, and it's working. Now, with 3.59.1 the "No read-only files in target folder" requirement is not accepted. I checked and all files under "C:\ProgramData\BMW\..." are NOT read-only, so that's ok I guess. Should I check more directories?

In the log-file I'm getting warnings like:
2016-07-05 14:20:18,563 DEBUG (null) [T]ISTAP-0000 IoHelper.AreFileHandlesOnDirectory: File A7835636.0DA : Readonly-Check: False
2016-07-05 14:20:18,564 WARN (null) [T] File A7835636.0DA: CLEAN

And strangely this is the last file in the logging (from C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\data\TRIC\ISTA-P\BMW\Services\data\ecudata\E46\data\MDS52), but not the last file totally. So it stopped checking half way?

I have the same problem. I left several minutes but nothing happened.

Did you solve? Anyone knows how to solve this?

You just have to wait a little longer... Checking of the files takes a while. After that you can proceed. I pressed cancel too soon.

On an old notebook (XPS M1530, Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Intel T9300 Duo CPU 2.5Ghz, 4096 MB, 297 GB HDD), I installed all the pre-requisite software, loaded admin client, installed 3.59.0.6 and then installed 3.59.1 without any errors. I did not open ISTA-P between installs and it took what seemed like 8 hours.

Can't re-install this, It still thinks it's already install but it's not, no other versions are installed, what folders should I delete or registry to delete.

I had a similar issue, if you dig around in the program data folder, you'll find the MSI installer for 3.59.0 and 3.59.1. Copy the MSI installers to the folder with the .istap files and run them directly. It should install correctly.

The new application installer is just a wrapper for the actual MSI. Apparently the application based installer has some bugs in which it doesn't completely uninstall the application or at least doesn't recognize that it's been uninstalled.

I just tried to install again. And it failed. Here are a few items from logs:

• The log has a long list of "Debug: Readonly-Check: False" & "Warn: File package.xsd: CLEAN."
  
• Then, series of "Searching for filelocks in directory" with "Readonly-check: False" & various "File Config...xml: CLEAN."
  
• "InstallControllerBase().OnErrorMEssage: ErrorCode: 25001 Error MEssage: The ISTA/P installation directory is not empty. Please clear this manually and start the process again. ErrorType: WindowsINstaller UIHint: 0 Results: None."

I think you're right.I met big problem by update ISTA/P from 3.59.0.600 to 3.59.1.003,serveral times it was stalled at the process determine installation style.this problem was happened first after I made a link to E-sys ,but I already delete this link.so to now,I can't update it to .1.003 and forward version recently released.friends said from .1.003 OS must be Win 7 professional .really?and how to fix it but don't re-install OS?thx in advance.
