I think that it is just information, selecting a line actually selects nothing.

I have been trying to follow the instructions in the original post to downgrade my CIC. I have set up the develop folders as instructed. I am doing the first module at the 63 address. The NAAB flashed correctly and my CIC is in boot loader mode. The program flash will not complete. I have tried many times, and used MOST_ASYNC_ab625 and MOST_ASYNC as i read somewhere that some people had more success with that. I have flashed the data ok however. I can reboot the CIC, and it will stay in boot loader mode, and is still contactable etc. It is not a total brick, the screen is blank and the fan is spinning. Anyone have any ideas? I have attached some error messages.

Wish I never started. I had the CIC, which I retrofitted into my E61 running perfectly, with combox and internet etc. I just wanted that little bit more and have apps, which I know aren't that great (I have them in an X1). I am using an ICOM unit.

This error is typical if you take wrong NAAB-File.
Check it out.

Anyway, the real V41 Datas of E60 (ECE) Adr.63 is not as ap90500 has posted.
But if you wana` have Apps in E60, Adr.63 has to be flashed with Files from E89, there is no way around it

I have the correct NAAB file. I know how to look up the correct one in the 0PA file. My CIC was flashed by the person i bought it from with the 9283418 firmware from an e89. I can see that data is going from the laptop to the icon, by monitoring the network.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. After some time, I have got the flash to go through successfully. I knew I had the right files. Also the settings in winkfp should have been OK too. I have read just about every forum on the topic, plus examining the contents of some of the files themselves, I was sure I had it correct.

So I watched the progress while flashing using task manager/networking. I can see when the ethernet port was being used. It would be quiet at the start for a while, then some activity for about 10-16 mins then it would stop with the security error.

Looking back at the settings in WINKFP and there are two settings for what look like trace files. They are set to 0 normally, so I set them to the highest level. I thought I would look in these files to find any problems.

Running the flash again, I watched the networking, but this time instead of stopping where it normally does, it carried on. I knew I was onto something.

I work in IT, and spend a lot of time debugging Microsoft's efforts in code. Performing extra logging can slow down performance of systems, so maybe adding the trace levels, slowed things down enough for the ICOM/MOST bus to not error. I also have a iPOD interface on my MOST ring, it's not used anymore, but has to stay there to close the loop. Perhaps it's introducing some problem.

So now I have my CIC with the firmware it had when I bought it (v54, mix of E89 and E60). All my coding is still as it was. Now, am I brave enough to try again and downgrade to v41?
