I wonder about the same ,if is safe to update from 900 to 942 without emergency mode if is already Keldo's activator on 900 ?

I finally answered myself, I was not comfortable with the idea of installing the new firmware "over" so I created an uninstaller, you can find it on the first page.

The process, if you have the firmware 900 installed and activated is as follows:

1. Apply the uninstaller (Just copy it to SD, wait for MMI to boot and insert SD)
   
2. Upgrade to version 942
   
3. Install the new activator
   

And... I have given a good review to the Keldo activator

• It doesn't need "code calculator" or "wifi enabled".
  
• It's more safe to use.
  
• You have the code in clear format.
  
• If you know Shell Scripting, you can review it before install
  
• It removes a bug in line 83 that can overwrite the backup of original "mmelauncher.cfg" file
  
• Have nice screens that shows you what's happening
  
• It use the new 0004000B.fsc provided by Navigationmaster
  

So. This part that until now was not clear, has a solution, and all is working and tested on my Audi A7!

- force Emergency Update with K0900
- install K0942
- delete nav database and nav partition and install new maps 6.24.2
- activated maps with same activator as for K0900 and 6.22.4
- reinstall K0942 (install GEMMI etc.)
- delete fault 03623 with same script as for K0900 and 6.22.4

Everything is working and no faults in 5F.

I always liked this method, for me it is the cleanest way. Maybe if I have some free time I will reinstall firmware 942 with emergency update and reinstall the map.

I definitely want to include this method in the manual

This is not activator its just FSC 0004000C , newer then FSC 00004000B , thats all , someone need to make metainfo for that

One question: When you installed the map, did you have to do the installation in "user-defined mode" or did you install the map as usual (standard mode)?

I use standard mode ,but before I start update I checked what is going to be updated what not , and everything under AUDI_MMI3G_ECE ,MapStyles or TMCConfig was marked with "Y" ,so I follow standard mode.

Some users use define mode because not all modules are selected to update in standard mode ,but I think this happened when you don't delete old nav database and partition ,or maybe if you install new maps on K900 ,I'm not sure
