VW Golf ECU incorrectly Coded P1612
Good evening every one
I'm new to ECU of cars and stuff but I'm an IT engineer who go sounds of knowledge. I've just bought a VW Golf 1.4 MK5 1K engine BUD and found out 2 major error thatis really making the car to struggle and shudder/jerk when I shift gear no matter which gear I choose. a copy of my auto-scan is attached here and I'd really appreciate if I can get help. I Basically I can't afford to go to garage as I've been of work for nearly 5 months now and that's all. If anybody could be any help even remotely to my PC of re-flashing the whole ECU or to do factory reset I'd be grateful Thanks for everyone Code: VCDS Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator Running on Windows 7 x86 |

RE: VW Golf ECU incorrectly Coded P1612
On 01 Engine, go to coding. If it is long coding then tick the bit boxes inside the bytes with your own configuration what extras your car has and so on. When you have to put numbers, vcds tells you what number on which position you have to make like xx?xxx 1= Engine 1.2 TDI 2 = Engine 1.4 TFSI 3= 2.0 TDI ... you will put the number in place of "?" Then deleting of error is possible normally.
Also check immobilizer coding, because it is saying control module defective. Maybe it is only coding, otherwhise someone with odis-e can flash new software on it for you. most times errors are gone then. with this error it is possible that car does not start properly. maybe someone tried or has done immo off patch, that car can be started with all vw keys of golf mk5 available then when this happened. Error in 19 Gateway ... is the radio removed or is there are 3rd party radio installed ? when 3rd party is installed, ignore this error. Not much to worry about this errors. they are not big errors. If my answer helped to fix anything, then don't forget to give me some rep please!

RE: VW Golf ECU incorrectly Coded P1612
First of all I want really deeply from my soul thank [popdog & phydor]
I'm really happy that people here are trying to help me while I'm new not like other forums while new members are treated so bad. I'm really greatful. What i meant by remotely it that I can buy the VAS5054A cable and have my laptop ready for one of you professional guys that can jump on my PC remotely and flash the car with ODIS or similar tool. for Mr. popdog, I've a VCDS cable ross-tech and application that if you want to check my coding I'm happy to give you access to my laptop while plugged into the car. Thank you again and again wait and again This is my favorite forum from today I promise |

RE: VW Golf ECU incorrectly Coded P1612
To the big boss POPDOG
I owe you a favor my friend !! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HINT regarding coding the problem with my coding that was messed up was actually 0 and it was hinted in the balloon as: +1 ABS / +2 Airbag / +4 climate control and i have all of these modules so i changed the 0 to 7 and my light has gone and done drive test and it's beautiful no jerking in gears or shuddering or anything but some new codes appeared after that so I decided to leave my last scan here for any expert to have a look and to tell me what needs what. one thing i noticed which is address 11 & 31 they never existed in my previous search but now they are throwing errors. ?!! And yes I don't have original Radio when I bought the car so what is that can-gateway error and immobilizer ? Code: Wednesday,27,September,2017,01:26:44:00001 |

RE: VW Golf ECU incorrectly Coded P1612
You can't flash the ecu update with vcds. You'll need for example VCP or ODIS-E.
