In this version of ISTA Programming and Expert mode need to be set in registry, not by CONFIG file in ISTA.
Location: Same as PSdZ datapath. Settings: BMW.Rheingold.Programming.Enabled set to true BMW.Rheingold.Programming.ExpertMode set to true |

Well, my version reads 4.07.12!! Let me download this and retry.
Incidentally my icom flashed red for WLAN and COMM, not sure if that is a sign of trouble or not. Will reinstall and report back! |

I did it exactly how you said but ISTA do not connect (( I did first edit the ediabas.ini from "Interface = Remote" to "STD:OBD" and it didn't work. Than I deleted the entire ediabas folder in \Rheingold\ and it still do not connect. I'm frustrated! [/quote] Keep trying, lets go over it, 1. You installed all the netframeworks 3.5, 4.5.2, 4.6.2 and 4.7 2. You installed vcredistx64 and x86, there is a bunch of them. 3.You installed vs90 4. You updated your Java 5. You installed istaD, copied SDP into the right folder and SQDB into the right folder. These need to be OTHER and your language package 6. Did a reg fix and your IST opens For KDCAN, this is the order 7. Install Ediabas, 8. Go to Ediabas/Bin and look for Obd.ini file. Change comport to com1 9. Open ediabas.ini in same bin folder, check that interface reads STD:OBD 10. Plug you KCAN cable, go to ftdichip.com and download D2XX driver for your system. 11. Go to device drivers, look USBSerial port, update driver with 10 above, right click it, change port to com 1, latency to 1 12. Open ista, change vciconfig to ediabas 13 install networktool and configure USB as per instructions 14. Connect cable to car, switch ignition on. Close ISTA, reopen it and connect, Do not bother trying KDCAN on Fseries, it acts up sometimes for no apparent reason. Look through the above and confirm you went through all the steps particularly configuring Ediabas, networktool, obd.ini and ediabas.ini Confirm you have the PDF instruction file and the whole tools folder. You cant go wrong with it. |
