Hi There,

I am on P1001 FW (3G+) and 2017/2018 maps. It was the first update I was doing myself and it went smooth as butter - thanks to your great instructions in PDF

However now I want to update to the new 2018 maps and I am stucked a little bit.

When I want to update maps (SD card inserted in Slot 1 and in Engineering menu) the "Start download" option is greyed out and I am not able to proceed. Now I don't know if I have to:

1. install the P1001 FW once again to get rid of activator
2. try another map package (not the one which has been striped down to only 3G+ files)
3. delete the maps first (I am a little bit aware of this step)

According to your posts it should be simple and I had just to overwrite new maps and do the activation again (KELDO'S). However this don't work for me and I don't know why

I will appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Do you have your SD card in FAT32 mode?...

I cant run emergency menu. I have already installed activator and emergency menu did not appear. I reboot system, installed it again and again. No emergency menu in green menu. I have reinstald software, installed again activator EM and sill nothing. Does it agsist another way to install emergency menu in green menu. Thank you for hand.

Did anyone update map over AMI USB?
Is it worth to try?
As well another Q can map 2018 be update under user defined mode or is important to erase DB and install complete again?

Did once the update over AMI USB and stopped it.... after 4 hours...
with sd card it tooks like 1,5 hours and with usb it is very slow!

Read Post #65 there is no need for emergency update you can bring back unit to normal conditions with firmware update.

I will answer myself. Looks like user defined mode works. I was able to select only "N" items so turned them to "Y" and now loading the update. Hopefully that´s the right way to do it. Looks like that other "N/A" items was older version of files that I already had

Yup. Works as expected. Successfully updated.

Are you trying to update from the red engineer menu? You can't do it from the black and white menu.
