hi

I saw on bimmer retrofit site a coding which is referring to a better sound quality via coding.

the text sounds like this: "The neutral output from the BMW HiFi head unit is the perfect basis for aftermarket audio systems. Recode your vehicle’s audio output to make the most of your stereo upgrades."

Do you know if it is just coding for a better sound for those with 676(HIFI) option or a HW is needed?

i did some research and I saw that US cars are fitted with hifi HW but thei are coded as stereo.

Is this the case that this coding is referring at?
Or it is available also for EU cars which have already 676 from factory fitted?

The way I read the statement is it is talking about coding the head unit to improve the sound with other manufacturers speakers and amps. That is why it is talking about aftermarket.

i see. so it is not related to VO code with 676 the HU-H unit from cars with basic audio system(audio_system=stereo to hifi).

That doesn't make sense. If you order hifi you'll get hifi. If you don't order anything you'll get base audio without an amp.
US cars have l7 as standard.
