it looks like you talk about installation and not the tips/tricks.
i write how to install here for beginner and for education only. it is better to be used for offline diagnostic.

if you plan to use xdos as a professional and do many scn online, it is better you buy xentry new key from professional in the market place and don't install any tips/tricks. let xdos be original.
just my 0.02 cents.

possible cause:
if you already use the correct 2221-45 Fix 2018-03, usually the rename of the original file is the problem.

example:
this is the original name:
com.daimler.xentry.diagservice_1.8.0.201801041734.jar

and you rename like this:
com.daimler.xentry.diagservice_1.8.0.201801041734ORI.jar

this will make [2221-45] error.

remedy:
try to move the original file to other folder and run the xentry again.

Start>search>msconfig.exe and tick GUI Boot. Sorry for my english

DAS not work with openport 2.0:
W168, W414, W463 only engine diag(2004).
