Why can't ETKA not find update 1240?
Update 1216 was working fine, but now a popup opens telling me the program is out of date and expired for audi, seat, vw and skoda

I have just updated my ETKA8.0 to 8.1 (via C:\ETKA\PROG\IX) and now I get this annoying "User ID" message at startup every time. It works OK, but it would be nice to get rid of the message. Anyone know how?

I cann't use the update installer. It says that ETKA is not installed. How did you manage to install the update to 8.1?

All I did was run the file C:\ETKA\PROG\IX\ETKA_81_Install.EXE

Bear in mind I am using a version of ETKA8 by f33nix from some time ago.

If anyone has an idea how I can stop the "ID" pop-up I would appreciate it.

f33nix version - aha - Thats maybe why it doesnt work with the version here... thanks... I need to check

I cancelled the ID popup in the settings in the program, but I cannot remember how I did it... If i find out again I will let you know

Hi911turbo, i checked it again and that one helped for me to disable the ID Popup:

Edit all these files

Etka_User_au.ini
Etka_User_se.ini
Etka_User_sk.ini
Etka_User_vw.ini

and make sure that the update source is NEVER internet (delete last entry):

Update_Source=C:\ETKA\DATA\AU\Update\
Update_Source_Internet=/update/%MARKE_UPD%/%COUNTRY_PRS%/

and then go to settings and double check that Update from Internet is unticked - see picture.

Thank you for trying, but my Etka_User_xx.ini files do not contain Update_Source_Internet. The settings are as your attachment shows, and my ini files have these lines for [Update] and [Preise]:

Update_Source_Lan=C:\ETKA\DATA\AU\Update\
Update_Source=C:\ETKA\DATA\AU\Update\

I can't use the 8.1 update installer.

There are 2 files in folder C:\ETKA\PROG\IX

ETKA_81_Install.EXE
ETKA81_Installation.exe (see screen)

Executing 'ETKA_81_Install.EXE' only downloads this file:

ETKA81_Installation.exe

1) Executing 'ETKA81_Installation.exe' (even as administrator) on WIN 10 1803 64 bit says that ETKA is not installed on this PC, but it is, see screen.

2) Executing 'ETKA81_Installation.exe' (even as administrator) on WIN 7 32 bit says that 'I need to upgrade the operating system to Win Vista Ultimate SP1' See screen, HUH that would be a downgrade, what's going on there?

Anyone has same problems?

Any idea how to fix that problem?

You have a link to the UpdateThread when installing the ::..LexCom..:: version on the Desktop! Follow this and load the file ETK80-1239-765-771-1239-ETK81. After running you can run the exe!

The ID that queries the program is the merchant access data !!!!

After entering the dealer ID, the program calls home!

Ok, so are you saying that it isn't possible to stop the ID popup?

With the merchant access data also the popup disappears!
Whether this can be avoided, I can not answer at the moment!
