Hello,
I have a little question to the experienced co-users.

Has anyone ever tried to update a working installation
of xentry PT?
For example from 12/2018 to 5/2019?

I am often lazy and just install a new version without un-installing the previous one first. Hardly ever start with a fresh Windows installation. Most often works fine. Anyway I usually un-install XDOS first, either from windows control panel or with Revo and then install a new release. The "update" anyway is most often equally time consuming as a fresh installation.

In case of problems it is always better to have a completely "clean" installation. That makes the SW as far as possible the same as others have. Problems inherited from previous installations can be unique, more difficult to find help.

i ever experienced to update and found that my 'patch' files were not replace by new files.
after that, i don't want to update.
to overcome 'repetitive' install of programs, i prepare fresh windows updated regularly + utilities so that i only need to run xdos/xentry passthru only.
even with this, i often late several months to update.

this is famous scn online error, happen on xdos 2018 release.

suggestion from other forum:
- certain addons fix that problem. so you can try online or offline addons update for your xentry release
