Obvious signs. Tamper dot on cluster
Not obvious signs, emulator behind or inside cluster cas/fem etc
Mileage discrepancies in databases e.g insurance,service records,bmw dealer etc etc

Remove cluster and check for original seal, stickers
For F series you can use ista, check dme hours, milleage, and calculate average speed.
Most of cars that i have already checked the average speed was higher than 35km/h

You can also look at last millage of battery replacement

All these are known for me and everything ok but dot will not be there if job is done correctly. All above can be skipped too if job is done correctly. So I am searching the best sign which will tell me real millage.

Click on DME in module map and call up ecu functions. Look through the available values you can read.

I think the best way to do that is to go to someone who has BMW explorer. It's possible then to check millage in other modules, even in RDC
