Hello everyone..

My daughter just bout a second hand F15 Hybrid ,the car is from 2016 and has still the NBT EVO 2016 navigation maps. I already downloaded the NBT EVO 2022-1 map
I saw with Ista that the NBT EVO is a ID5 ,so now sje would love to have Appel Carplay is this possible? how do i know if this F15 already has a wifi kabel ?

The I-level is : F025-16-07-507

most probably it wont have wifi antenna (best will be to check it manualy), also for better experience need better firmware, at least 2018-3 - than you will have fullscreen carplay.

feature installer work with all versions, but when it used with early versions of evo (you have first version) after patch headunit can reboot every several minutes, need to use usb activation

but as said jararak, better update evo software, as which you have now is very buggy for carplay

So maybe there is already a wifi antenne in the F15 ? otherwise why would they offer that pack? I wil insert a screenprint of the connected webpage and a pdf of the options from bimmer-work VIN decoder.

Well... you masked the VIN in pdf file but the masked area is clickable to bimmer.work and get VIN

But i got another problem , i just saw the car and there is an error on the cluster from the SOS calling system. So i called the garage where the car was always going for maintenance , and asked if they now that the car has this error. (My daughter bought this car second hand from a private person  ) so she has no warranty ( i was against it i wanted her to buy a car at the dealer or another specialized BMW garage ) So the garage told me they new about this error last year the customer came to them with this after going to a bmw dealer and they told here the SOS module was broke and it was 700  or 800 euro to replace this. But the customer did not want to pay that amount of money so the customer had the module disconnect by someone that new how to code the car. So the cart has been running like this since last year without any problems just the error on the left side of the cluster is annoying because she can't so the kilometers anymore. Now my daughter does not have a problem that the SOS is not working anymore, but she already was at the BMW dealer because on the connected drive internet webpage she saw that it was possible to get a AppleCarplay preparation pack for 300 euro and the dealer said after reading out the car that it was not possible to get Apple Carplay working if the SOS error was not fixed en that here connected drive services also not work without fixing this SOS error in the car.
So can i activate AppleCarplay on herF15 with the SOS module broken and disabled ? do i need to have here get that fixed before Apple Carplay can work??

Everything works on the I-Drive even headup display is working.

You can code out SOS fault. And if you activate CarPlay by USB or Feature Installer, you can just leave the Telematic module (ATM) defected.


The “official way” activates by ConnectedDrive need a healthy Telematics module because your car needs to connect to BMW server and get provisioning data; but in “hacked way”, no communication with server needed.
