Golf mk5 - change instrument cluster
Hello community,
I would like to upgrade/change instrument cluster from basic one to which showing outside temp (and ev. have board comp) on an early Golf MK5 from 2004. Have already upgraded stalk and Steering Wheel Control Module to midline version. Have few questions: 1. I have genuine 5054a and ODIS, and I'm wondering do I need to have online account for "Replace Control Module" or can be done offline ? 2. Mileage is copied to new cluster or needs to be adjusted with separate tool/session (which one)? 3. any other things to think ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which cluster version showing external temp and ev. have board comp will be suitable to replace current cluster ? 2. Do you have name for cheap tools (this will be one-time job, don't want to spend money) 3. Can't be done with ODIS ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------

RE: Golf mk5 - change instrument cluster
I think 1K0920870k is good choice for this replacement.
both are pre 07 so you can adapt them with vcds, if someone extract for you pins. tools like carprog, cheap vag commander can help (if you are lucky... my comander never work on can bus, but some of my friends say that theirs works ok. china lottery) odis need online access for this job. evgeny87
