You can't update with BMW_ISPI_ISTA-APP 4.38.14.24203.msi and the SQLiteDBs packages. That is your problem.

Update the psdzdata only such as SDP files.

hi everyone,

I have a small problem. When I update 4.39.20 to 4.39.25 everything works great with the console. He updates to the 4.39.25. If I want to update to 4.39.3x with the console, it gets to 50% and then stops. Or it aborts with an error. Where is the mistake? I can't get any further. Would be great if someone would help me.

Can anyone sort me out correctly please - usually i just download newer SDP (psdzdata) , and just replace them to data_swi - all works ok, only current version doesn't appers in settings base . How i can update, to appears in ISTA settings as well?

Bring you here some help to all who was frustrated like me  . I hope it will be helpful and can general all steps of updating ista without updating ISTA APP and corrupt licence.

So yep really - BLP and SDP edit - how few members recommend in some post deep in threads which can be hard to find. 
Rewrite "SWIData"="4.39.30" and "LogisticBaseVersion"="4.39.30" in reg file 
Now works also with programming data and software update after insertion of SDP and BLP 4.39.30.
By my opinion - the best gently edit is by those steps:

1. Delete folders "data_swi" and "data" in x:\ISTA\PSDZ


2. Insert newer version folders to same path keeping same file structure what did you delete.
(if you download archive which contains only folder psdzadata, because i saw some archives named SDP/BLP and inside was psdzdata folder then insert psdzdata here):
from psdzdata BLP archive = x:\ISTA\PSDZ\data
for psdzdata SDP archive = x:\ISTA\PSDZ\data_swi

3. go to registry like as you can see in attachment.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\ISTA
SWIData is SDP, LogisticBaseVersion is BLP
Edit those two parameters to version what you are pasting.

5. run this reg if you did not do it in past
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold]
"BMW.Rheingold.Database.CheckAppVersion.Enabled"="false"

6. Done, launch ISTA and try to calculate Software Update - if it shows result, then OK - works.
Just like mine.



Question now is - what is BLP? Do I also have updated service functions? 
If not, what to do? Is possible without updating basic ISTA APP version?

And about SQliteDBs - can i update them also? What to rewrite in registry?

I understands the structure by registry like this:
->DataVersion - SQLiteDB_Other ???
->DataVersion-en_EN - SQLiteDB_en-GB
->InstallLocation - simple, just path where is main folder of ISTA structure. For example C:\EC-APPS\ISTA
->LogisticBaseVersion - BLP of course (what is BLP exactly for?)
->MainProductVersion - Shorter version number of ISTA APP client?
->ProductVersion - Longer version number of ISTA APP client?
->SWIData - SDP - programming data of course. (Anyway, can them work without BLP? I guess not. Why? Because BLP contains coding data?)
