Can you explain to me what all this has to do with the IstaLauncherConsole?

This topic is all about IstaLauncherConsole.

If you want to update ISTA:
1. install as example ISTA 4.37.4x with my installer or use even newer ISTA.
2. update SDP/BLP with IstaLauncherConsole
3. never update SQLiteDB
4. no manual steps needed, IstaLauncherConsole set right reg values.

Question now is - what is BLP? Do I also have updated service functions? 
If not, what to do? Is possible without updating basic ISTA APP version?

And about SQliteDBs - can i update them also? What to rewrite in registry? 

BLP is SAME as SDP except has FAFP data ONLY in the psdzdata\swe folder. You could make a link from data_swi to data and it will work (well, I have not tried to do anything serious). Why they have done that? Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe for ease of installation when you don't want programming data.

So you CAN'T even call it coding data as it does not have CAFDs. My guess BLP is just data for ISTA to know something about car hardware so it maybe can detect unfinished flashings/codings etc. But that is just my guess and I really don't care what is it for

Of course you DON'T get new service functions, because those are described in diagdoc and implemented in ISTA dll files. Nothing to do without updating ISTA itself.

You CAN update sqlites. Who am I to tell you you can't do something??? Just that will break your ISTA So be warned. Sqlites are VERY intimately tied with specific ISTA version.

Im sorry too, i was just trying to help that guy who was confused. I appreciate your work really. 
by the way I wanted to use your launcher, problem is that i dont have any deltas can cant understand how to work with that. Inside launcher is two guides but both are different and I was confused. Sorry

That why my question was - how to do that over Launcher console? I don’t understand what’s delta’s there required , so that’s why i asked about changing files.

So we can use the console to update SDP / BLP. Why can't we use it to also update ABL / Application itself if we have the required packages?

Won’t work with application such as .msi, you will need license contained newer ISTA .msi package.

Yes you can if your SDP is on 4.39.36. I have 4.39.20 of standalone and updated SDP only to the latest 4.40.1 but I went through 4.39.21, 4.39.25, 4.39.30, 4.39.36 first.

Is that absolutly necesarry? I would like to update from 4.37.4x to tha latest SDP 4.40.1. Do i need to upgrade one by one or can i just go for the last one?

2 ways to update SDP :
- with "DELTA" istapackage file --> one by one
- with "FULL" istapackage file --> only this file
