Hi just curious 2018 map installs with USB the normal way without deleting old map first or with FTP manual update?

Then why is BMW still selling 2019 maps even for "older" cars? biggrin

So, for 2018 I still have to delete the memory, or as acolt said just simply let the car sleep and then apply 2018? The car is not here right now, I have to try it out in new year

So just to make this clear, before I try something out, since its not my car smile
Can I go with 2018 if the 2019 update failed before, or do I really have to delete the old maps first, with "steuern_navi_map" and arg. "0x01"?

No need to delete anything, just insert USB stick with 2018-1 map data.

CIC headunits have had a lot of problems with freezing map updates. When i experienced these freezes i simply just turned off car and reinserted USB, and then it would resume from where it was left before. Could happen 2-3 times during a navigation update.

I have now same problem on E90 2009/09 with original map from 2009.  tried update maps to 2023 now and stopped at 77,6% and cannot read from USB. 
How did you solve that?
