F30 typenschlüssel US to EU
Hello,
I need to convert F30 US to EU. I know that I have to change typenschlüssel. But I don`t understand few things. My original typenschlüssel in Esys is 8E57, but in ISTA Type code: 8E67. Why is difference here? I searched typenschlüssel 8E57 in bimmerarchive.org/e-code/ and found it, but there is no 8E67. Question is whitch typenschlüssel to choose for ECE coding? Engine N20B20U0 F30 LCI Xdrive 135kW US Thanks for help If I helped you +Rep

There is type code in VIN which ESys/ISTA uses for flashing/coding (well, basically any PSdZ data related activities) and then there is another type code which ISTA uses for all other purposes (like diagnosis). Hence two different type codes. |

You can use this variant:
8A51_320i_xDrive_Sedan_B48B20M0_135kW_All_Wheel-Drive_left_Europe 8E57_320i_xDrive_Sedan_N20_135kW_All Wheel-Drive_left_USA |

So depending on how CAFs are designed it may or may not work... And it's not possible to tell without time consuming analysis... IMHO usually you want to code lights and similar stuff, so you want LCI flag to match. Different engine? Not so much of a problem IF you know what you are doing! |

RE: F30 typenschlüssel US to EU
The last letter indicates the region, RHD or LHD.
1= LHD (ECE-EGY-etc) 2- RHD (UK-AUS-etc) 3= USA only Same applies to 4,5,6,7 but i didn’t work or focus on them before. If there wasn't any type code for the car, he need to search manually on RealOem, ISTA and others, it can be done as i think, if there wasn’t any type code for such car, he can still manage to do it via other ways —- Regarding the full vin in F series Esys doesn’t care about the vin type code, it focus on the FA only While ISTA reads the type code out of the VIN yes, but it doesn’t show virtual errors related to region, its shows everything as it as is in coding and ISTEP. I didn’t face any issue regarding service functions, we use RHD salvage cars to rebuild our LHD cars, most of the time i leave the vin of the RHD, i run most of the service functions without issues .. unless i am doing a perfect job, i start searching for an LHD vin for my rebuild project. In E series, its a ************** Even NCS cares about the vin, everything is complicated there .. i always search for complete vins for our rebuilds, it takes alot of time from, its not easy as it seems. Sorry i wrote alot because i always work on this matter
