RE: Programming Audi Area View
Thank you for sharing your research. Just curios do you have idea what the small module is for and what is the part number?
Thanks. David (05-02-2024, 07:05 AM)rocdeng Wrote: I did some research and report back here. |

The area view works without the module as well, but you will get yellow "fatigue warning unavailable" and "distraction warning unavailable" warnings in the VC. The module is connected to the VC CAN bus and probably emulates the sensors needed for those warnings. More research is needed into whether OEM sensors could be retrofitted, or even where they are located... |

RE: Programming Audi Area View
It doesn't has part no. Looks like it's a homemade module which simulates the Fatigue detection.
Update: Now in China market, updating firmware and programming the view is free, only charge for the module, the module is about $80. BMW 5 Series and Audi Q4 e-tron user.
If it helps, please give rep , thanks! |

RE: Programming Audi Area View
I would be interested how this and also original fatigue detection system detects fatigue actually, do you think newer audis have sensors kind of like Mercedes or BMW with Infra sensors for eyes being open?

Whatever kind of sensors are used, I'd also be curious if it's possible to retrofit the OEM sensors so the detection actually works...
Also, I was told $150 for the module, seems it's getting cheaper already. It'll probably show up on AliExpress at some point for around $30-40. |

RE: Programming Audi Area View
Do we actually know if this is officially in place for cars from model year 24?

RE: Programming Audi Area View
It is, there is a video from "TyDrives" on YT about the 2024 A6, it's visible there. I posted the link yesterday, but it seems it was deleted...

RE: Programming Audi Area View
Audi has a lot of view programming, but it's not that cheap, is it? Reliable is not reliable, and it may ruin the instrument panel
