The music and map partitions are separate ones but I would be interested in a link to the DIY. I recently replaced the HDD with an SSD in my CIC but had to keep the same partitions. The SSD is bigger so I would like to make use of a bigger music partition.

It is not a massive increase in speed but it is noticeable especially in the music section when you go back from an artist to the top level and the CIC has to relist all artists. It cuts a few seconds off. I have filled the 12.5GB with music and have albums from about 100 different artists so it was taking 10 seconds or so to do this list which was doing my head in. It is now down to 4-5 seconds.
The CIC does boot more quickly but this is not a lot different in the navigation

Here's how to replace the HDD with a larger one. This DIY does not cover the part on how to extend the partitions. That's separate and I can't find the original link to it. Still waiting for confirmation if it's OK to post it or not as it is not my work.

After some extensive research I could fiind the original posting on how to extend the partitions. It's in german but there are enough images to figure out how everything works.

I guess the largest partition on the HDD is the one with the maps so extending that one would make place for both versions to be installed. What do you think?

I think before you go down the road of buying a larger HDD and expanding the partition you need to answer a couple of questions:
1. How are you going to install the two maps together?
2. If you do manage to install both, how are you going to swap between the two?

I am not sure that merging the two packages together and trying to install both will necessary work as there may not be the routing info to go between the two. Just my opinion.

Yes, you can use the hex/fsc-file for generating all future codes.

So , just to be fully understood , once i have the fsc file i can use it for update-ing to every new map that is on market at the point of time ! i don't have to reread the fsc file again ???

is it possible to downgrade the map ???(Ex. : from 2015-1 to 2014-1 )

Because it only lets you install when it encounters a new version.

Good questions...
I guess I'll find the answer only by trying. I have a friend who is willing to give it a try. Worst case scenario, he will get a larger hdd so he will have more space available for music
