PPeugeot  Peugeot 206 Speedo issue
Hey guys.

I hope you can help me ... I´ll try to explain everything I´ve done so far but still cannot make the speedometer and the odometer to work (among other issues like the aircon and the alarm).

I bought a Peugeot 206 2004 (1.4 Gasoline Manual transmission with ABS) a few months ago and I thought that the issue was the speed sensor, however I didn´t know that the signal was supposed to come from the ABS (the transmission had a cap but also a connector available for a speed sensor). When checking with my diagnostic scanner, it was showing the speed so I bought a new dashboard (it needed to be replaced anyway as the needles were crazy) which worked better but still won´t show the speed.

I have checked EVERY SINGLE forum/website I could find to no avail. According to them, it´d be burned fuses(BSM/BSI), burned reverse bulbs, bad earth connection on the dash cable, broken cables or disconnecting the battery, resetting the BSI, etc ... but nothing works.

I removed the BSI from the car to check the connections and fuses to make sure there were no issues/rust and when I put it back, the scanner wouldn´t show the speed anymore. As a test, following a forum post, I installed a speed sensor on the transmission, connected the plug that was hanging next to it but no changes. And as the last resort, I fed a cable between the BSI(Pin 2 on the 10 pin black connector) and the ECU(Maroon - G2) which is the existing connection on the 206s that have the speed sensor on the transmission, but still nothing.

Long story short ... the car is too cheap to spend money sending it to a workshop and too expensive to send it to the scrapyard. Also, I´m a DIYer and I´d like to fix it ¨myself¨.

Do you guys think that updating the dump files on the dash, BSI and ECU would fix the speedo issue? I already have backed them up.

RE: Peugeot 206 Speedo issue
Hello,
Already if you have replaced the ABS/BSI signal with the BdV sensor, you have to do a telecoding.
The original signal goes through the ABS, the BSI and the meter, if one or the other is HS or badly coded, it does not work...
Then, there may be elements, like the non-original post which disturbs the sign, is the vehicle completely original?

Hello MAGNUM.

Thanks for your reply.

As far as I know, yes, it is completely original.

Do you believe that if I replace the dump files on the ECU and BSI would fix the issue? (for me, it doesn´t matter if in the end the dash will get the speed signal from the ABS or transmission ... I just need to make it work the easiest way posible hahaha)

It would be good to check the telecoding with Diagbox before changing everything. If you don't have this diag, it will be complicated for you unless you change everything

Nothing related to the ECU, ABS, dash, speedo ,, only a sensor temperature sensor.

I´ve been trying for a while now to make the PP2000/Diagbox work but still can´t. Would do you mean by ¨change everything¨?

I´ll upload the dump files ... maybe someone can have a look at them or maybe send me a virgin dump file for the BSI.

These are the files I have nowadays. Not sure if something can be done on them or maybe it´d be easier to use virgen ones.
