you can try, but there is the risk of leaving the unit out of service

Yes mate. He's right. With CarProg 5.31 can use same ".lib" for other.
As you can see, I have three softwares installed: 4.01 ; 4.47 ; 5.31 and watch in the bottom left. Is the same serial(.lib)

You have three different softwares installed,that's ok.Question is-can you use those softwares with all their functions just like that,without flashing?
If it is so,we can easily upgrade old carprog in couple of minutes

Last week I made clear crash data ,on desk from a Siemens Airbag Module. Even I read (one by one...) the dump with all three. Clear, write and check with 5.31. After I made another Read with all three.
I did not have anything to flash.

I say this because I bought the software. is for a Chinese clone carprog

and I tested the software on an older unit and it works perfectly

New updates work ok but same old stuff no new things activated what you had activated on previos 4.01 is whats activated on newer updates

nowt new exept some descriptions and pictures updated so same authorisations maybe a few debugs but same stuff on all updates just maybe a few bugs sorted and a few new pics

lib file is locked to AT88 so till we have a new lib and new eeprom file theres not a lot of difference what worked before will only work the same

Not all functions work!
Only from version 4.01, and some functions is open but make nothing
or better don´t make change on the functions!
