RE: NEW DIGIPROG 4
Good tools aren't cheap, for a reason. If you want a push button solution, you're going to pay or fail.
If you charge peanuts for a correction, no matter how easy they are, then you deserve to suffer along with cheap clones and may be destined to fail in the industry. In your market, the best bet is a USAProg, not really expensive compared to the Euro tools. Buy what you need as you need it, but charge accordingly to pay for it. If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

RE: NEW DIGIPROG 4
That's pretty much what I do.
I started with digi clone learned about eproms mcu and so forth the common stuff and then I added a tachopro and so on and so forth. I'm not interested in a quick buck. I charge decent for what I do but there also a market you have to kind of follow and what you get for a car here and say what you get in new York to different ballparks but that seems to be what I do buy them as I need them and there value is there. I think my next purchase will be a usaprog full from Xmodder 4-5k is pretty cheap when compared to other quality tools |

RE: NEW DIGIPROG 4
$50.00 for a Trailblazer is decent?
That's an insult to the industry pal and will make you no friends. http://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.ph...1#pid83101 If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

RE: NEW DIGIPROG 4
Well when I spoke of that it was revolved around a particular business that I give discounts to because they bring me large business but..... you have to understand in the Chicago neck of the woods if you want to survive you have to base your price on the going rate and I hate to tell you this I don't know where you perform the service from but here 100.00 is the average going rate
but theres also thousands of people doing it for 50.00 and less so if you want to compete and grow you have to make decisions that are not always pretty. Noone does it with the intent of damaging the industry. Its done because if you don't do it here theres five other people on the same block that will You keep pricing competitive or die here That's just the way it is Not everyone is geographically blessed What would you charge for a trailblazer where you work to a business that brings you x#$ in rebuilds and programming a month? Are you saying I should charge more and lose a huge account because it might affect the value of your service in Canada? you cannot really be serious right now. |

RE: NEW DIGIPROG 4
Clones have killed the job its that simple, bedroom correctors, working from there bedroom on a pay as you go phone, I remember buying my first "box" cost me almost £7000 same box has been cloned by China now for many many years.
The answer is simple all stick the the same price customer has zero option but this is never going to happen as the clones have made it just to widespread to keep this nice and right. Weekly i get call's to price the job they say no i can get it done cheaper i tell them to go for it, and call me when its gone wrong i charge triple to fix it... If it can be fixed! |

RE: NEW DIGIPROG 4
Yes don't get me wrong I do tell people no and stand on higher prices all the time
depending on the vehicle and customer but I also offer what I consider a value pack if your willing to bring me ### cars a month I'm more then willing to cut the cost on a few simple vehicles because sad but true there are plenty of skilled programmers here who charge next to nothing in fact I told a customer last week if he would like to shop around feel free |
