VW Electromechanical Steering Assistance - Characteristic Curves
I recently helped a friend with a 2010 VW Tiguan with electromechanical steering rack problems.
It had the 00003 error, which was because of a software fault. There was a TSB for a software update to fix it. ODIS-S mentions the need for update to fix error: "During a background check it was determined that the control module for power steering -J500 has the software version: 0703 - Perform an update of the software of the power steering control module -J500 according to the TPI 2026486." So I used ODIS-E 5.0.14 to update it from 0703 to 1101: I used 5N1909144N_1101.sgo file from the flashfiles, because there is no 5N1909144K sgo. It flashed fine. Before: Hardware part number :5N1909148G * Part number :5N1909144K Hardware version number :H03 Software version number :0703 Build group number : Code :258 Ability to flash :flashable System name :J500__APA-BS KL.162 After: Hardware part number :5N1909148G * Part number :5N1909144K Hardware version number :H03 Software version number :1101 Build group number : Code :258 Ability to flash :flashable System name :J500__APA-BS KL.0 ODIS-S wanted to download a characteristic curve from the online system, but I do not have an account. Is there any way to apply a characteristic curve from ODIS-E or any other methods? Thank you! |

RE: VW Electromechanical Steering Assistance - Characteristic Curves
You can flash with Odis Curves for these racks start with v074B****.sgo (e.g. v074B3635N1___Lenkung.sgo).
The 5N1909144K can flash up to 5N1909144R 1401 http://tech.gtx.su/vag/?hide_gen_2=1 |

RE: VW Electromechanical Steering Assistance - Characteristic Curves
So
"v074B1625N1___Lenkung.sgo" would make it characteristic curve KL.162 again? I just flash J500 with this sgo on top of the main flash file? v074B1625N1___Lenkung.sgo means which steering rack part number... v074B1625N1___Lenkung.sgo means which characteristic curve number. Any other important information in the name of the file? Also, what is the difference between 5N1909144N_1101.sgo and 5N1909144N_1101_BP.sgo? BP means something important? I had a hard time deciding which one to use. |

And then use ODIS-E to apply characteristic curve file "v074B1625N1___Lenkung.sgo" 3. Then set basic settings with ODIS-S or VCDS. |
