Hi,
I can’t print from this version. With the ISTAGUI.exe.config it has to print on the default printer. For me this does not work , the default printer is set up and operational. I have also tried this, for the print dialog:
ISTAGUI.exe.config:
<Add key = " BMW.Rheingold.CoreFramework.PrintingType " value = "dialog" / >

And changed in the Reg:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ BMWGroup \ ISPI \ Rheingold DEFAULT to DIALOG .

But even without success.

Can someone help me please

Hi,

it seems that the function fasta data is deactivated in this version. No files will be stored in the fastaOut folder in the Rheingold directory. I am looking for the ISTA diagnostic protocols - ANTFZG files.

How can I enable this again?

Changing the Key in ISTAGUI.exe.config from

<add key="FASTAEnabled" value="false" />

to

<add key="FASTAEnabled" value="true" />

will re-enable ANTFZG Files, which can be opend with order data viewer after a session to have logfile about the steps / errors during a session. You need admin rights for order data viewer.

Apparently 3.54.30 is killing FRMs there's is an SIB about it and dealers are replacing them for free whenever it happens to them only. E90 and E70 confirmed affected but according to sib it's all cars with FRMs. E70 FRMs are back ordered for a couple months.

Could you be more specific ? Like what kind of operation is performed with ISTA-D 3.54.30 Standalone which could result in bricking/corrupting the FRM ?

I find hard to believe that reading/clearing DTCs would affect any module in any way. Unless of course an unfortunate event happens, example: your laptop battery dies in the middle of the process, or a lightning strikes the car...

And which interface is the "usual suspect" : the dealer/original ICOM(or NEXT), the ICOM clone, the cheap E-NET or K+DCAN ?

It happened just by doing a short test with both with Ista online and offline. Someone reached to BMW and BMW now says it's caused by the FRM module itself and not ista d. But still doesn't make sense

Strange, read about this behaviour now...
But i can confirm that i have use diagnosis function with this release on E70 and E90 both from 2008 without any problems.

On both cases K+DCAN Interface was used.
May it occurs only with ICOM
