What's the deal with ISTAP not automatically detecting out-of-date control modules and determining a measures plan on older E46 series? Is the software version too new?

(car: 1999/E46 328ci and ISTA-P 3.58.3.003, ICOM A2 w/round obd connector)

I think on these cars you can only update the DME/DDE and EGS Module.
if these are up to date ISTA/P won't create a programming plan...

When using ISTA/P with I-BUS cars or older, you must first determine measures plan and then you will see the updates. Normal connection does not show the updates like on newer cars.
