RE: Opel CIM module replacement
If you did this job properly using Tech2 and you had pin for each cim. Divorce Replacement CIM first using its pin. Then add to car using car original pin. You should not need to add keys.
If you are replacing CIM due to broken clockspring, strip both CIMs down and rebuild using original PCB and clockspring from replacement. No coding required at all. |

RE: Opel CIM module replacement
Hi as far as i'm aware and know once programmed keys are only good for original VIN cannot change , so PIN is VIN locked (other words new keys)

If you do not have this you must get it from 95160. Then it can be added to your car using the cars pin. Did you not read the workshop manual? |

RE: Opel CIM module replacement
No you must reset the second hand CIM that you are fitting to the car. But it must be reset with it's own pin, the pin from the car it came from. If you do not have it desolder 95160 to get it. Once it is divorced (reset) you do not need that pin again. When you then add it to the car you will use the pin from the car that you are adding it to. All will then work properly. Old keys will work ok.
I am concerned that you say only one of your CIM modules has this chip. The CIMs must be identical to work. Same number same 2 letters. Please learn to use the Reputation, Like and Thanks buttons properly. It is free if you push them. |
