I think you're right.I met big problem by update ISTA/P from 3.59.0.600 to 3.59.1.003,serveral times it was stalled at the process determine installation style.this problem was happened first after I made a link to E-sys ,but I already delete this link.so to now,I can't update it to .1.003 and forward version recently released.friends said from .1.003 OS must be Win 7 professional .really?and how to fix it but don't re-install OS?thx in advance.

Which OS are you using? I am not sure if it must be Win 7 Pro, but certain .NET frameworks are required.

In general, some windows versions which can be upgraded or switched through "Windows Anytime Upgrade" using different key or installation disc. Limitation include not being able to switch between 32-bit and 64-bit without clean install (ie requiring format).

I was using Windows 7 Ultimate on spare system and was able to update front 3.59.0.600 to 3.59.1. However, I kept running into issues going to 3.59.2.001. When I switch to Windows 10, I installed the following without issues: 3.59.0.600 > 3.59.1.00 > 3.59.2.001 > 3.59.2.002 > 3.59.3.002.

Then I see no reason to switch to Professional. You can try installing .NET Framework 4.6.2.
