RE: BMW E70 Buttons under Rearview mirror?
I think its Homelink compatible remote control which can be used for gates or garage door opening, etc. Not sure about E70 manual, but E60 & F10 manuals have a chapter called "Integrated universal remote control".

RE: BMW E70 Buttons under Rearview mirror?
I would agree with Homelink, lots of US cars have them too. Should be user programmable.
If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

RE: BMW E70 Buttons under Rearview mirror?
THey are user programmable. Hold button 1 and 3 together for a little while and it will start to flash.. this deletes previously stored frequencies.
To use it with your garage opener, hold your close to the mirror, open the garage and press one of the buttons at the same time. But know this, your garage opener and mirror need to work at the same fequency. You cant have a garage opener on 433mhz and a mirror at 868. |

Multiple openers.
If you Google Homelink you will find more info. Homelink site has all programming instructions for all cars. If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

RE: BMW E70 Buttons under Rearview mirror?
You should really read BMW manual. It explains in details how to set it up, how to reset codes, how to clone fixed codes and how to clone variable codes. It should also tell you how to find out which frequency your mirror supports. It does support only single frequency, so only devices operating on that frequency will work. Please also make sure the transmitter you are trying to clone is HomeLink compatible as many are not There is a nice list of supported devices along with the frequencies they operate on at www.homelink.com site. Though for example some newer BiSecur Hormann devices are not on the list they can be switched to fixed code mode and then cloned to your BMW.

RE: BMW E70 Buttons under Rearview mirror?
Are you sure?
In 1 minute I opened bing, looked for e70 manual, opened first match, downloaded manual and found a chapter called "BMW universal transmitter" which explains it |
