You can still run these later versions on slower/older HW with the HW check removed. It's become the standard for the last several standalone versions.

I have this error when i start ISTA-D (Win7 64bit on Dell630)

   

I had on this laptop ISPI-Next from sangandi
I removed all with revo unistaller. I installed BMW Standart tools 2.12. Next i clean the registry with RCleaner from beemerboy.
Then i installed istap-p 3.58 with loader from beemerboy and it works (Networktool, net framework2 and 4, patched ediabas, java runtime)
Next i copy the rheingold standalone folder to c:\ and click the regfix for standalone file, but ista-d does not start. Now i installed netframwork 4.5 and 4.6, ista-d start but with this error.

I installed only the rheingold standalone on other PC and it starts without problem.

Hello there,

I have same error too on windows xp 32bit

Failed to Start ISTA.
Please make sure you ISTA configuration is valid.
In doubt reset any non standard ISTA configuration and reinstall ISTA.

I have applied reg fixes and installed all the required tools.

Solved. I must install also vcredist_x86.exe, not only vcredist_x64.exe
