Below is the version info extracted from 4.01.21 SDP, look to the Mode section.

Don't forget BMW could choose to general release a test version if they think it's fit for release, personally speaking at lot of BMW Software is not fit for release rofl

Code:
<VersionInfo>
    <Version>4.01.21</Version>
    <Type>Delta</Type>
    <Mode>TEST</Mode>
    <ISTASystem />
    <ISTARelease />
    <InitialVersion>4.01.15</InitialVersion>
    <ProductionState />
    <Description>3.59.4</Description>
  </VersionInfo>

RE: ISTA-D 4.01.21 Standalone - Mega
Ok I extracted all three SDP packages (SDF FULL .15, Delta .15/.21), and did a binary beyond compare between all three packages. The only difference I see minor additions to S15A in the Delta .21 package compared to the FULL .15 and some additions of older versions (-1) for some files, its like they forgot to add the previous version for some files... (I think Dracon eluded to that in an earlier post)

So, its a bizarre to release a Delta .15 pkg that doesn't contain any change... and in the end who cares about the S15A, dont even know what platform that is (bike?).

My goal is to use the smaller footprint in combination with Esys not ISTA4 for my F8x, and in any case Esys lets you know if there are any files missing, "Check software availability".

S15A is the designation for G-series vehicles, if I remember correctly, they are moving to a single target for all G-series vehicles. So no division like F20, F25, F10, etc in E-Sys and pdszdata.

The 4.01.15 delta is to update from 3.56.31 FULL SDP using delta's, so that you do not need to download another full or other large files.

Very likely. They could have meant that for ISTA Diagnostics that .21 is the release version and could very well have something higher than .21 for the release version of the SDP packages. No-one ever said the versions had to match for all packages. biggrin

RE: ISTA-D 4.01.21 Standalone - Mega
Flashed today with icom next,
one F31 which one has no most ECUs, everything works fine, measurement plan very fast ,all ECUs have been flashed.

one F30 with most ECUs and no router or dhcpsrv,
measurement plan fast, alle Ecus without most have been flashed, most ECUs have not been flashed ,so same as ista p!

and same F30 with dhcpsrv 2.5.2 and ip 192.168.1.1 ,
measurement plan fast, all ECU s including most (AMPT,Kombi,NBT) have been flashed. Same as ista p

So flashing works as in ista p , measurement plan takes only one minute , so you can save up a lot of time against ista p.

Hi Hulahans,

If I remember than you have copied psdzdata Files from the newest
ISTA-P and just changed the path in one of the config Files.

Is this right?

Thank you for your continuous reports!

RE: ISTA-D 4.01.21 Standalone - Mega
I've installed both ISTA-D 4.01.21 Standalone and ISTA-P 3.59.4.004, so I can just change the path in config file to
<add key="BMW.Rheingold.Programming.PsdzDataPath" value="C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\data\TRIC\ISTA-P\BMW\Services\data\ecudata\psdzdata"/>
and the flash function will work, right?

Thanks.

Yes, i copied the psdzdata folder to

<add key="BMW.Rheingold.Programming.PsdzDataPath" value="c:\Rheingold\PSdZ\data"/>

Rename or delete the old psdzdata folder inside
