Turn off your windows firewall and disable any antivirus. Usually it's firewall that's blocking the 2 psdz ports with this error

Agreed, disable windows firewall. I always get this error when I forget.
Having the Firewall exceptions that the installer makes doesn't seem to be enough.

I never have any issue with any BMW software (E-sys, ISTA, INPA, etc) when using Windows Defender and Firewall; I have never setup special rules or disabled. I do occasionally with third party security systems.

Did you configure your connection and are you using BB's loader?

Have you tried a battery reset on the vehicle? F series sometimes gives this error, disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes usually solves the problem.

thankyou for all above posts.
Ediabas 7.3.0 is isntalled correctly and patched. There is no problem with other cars like E series.
Windows Fire wall is disabled and there is no other security software on that laptop.
ISTA P works OK with other cars, so presume configuration is OK.
Disconnecting the battery ? Never tried this one, We alwas back up the battery with voltage stabiliser.
I would rather think the problem is related to PSDZ data, but how to establish this dontknow ?

Gentlemen,
I am having another though thinking. I installed the BMW software myself and I am not any expert on the matter, so it is possible I have copied some files into wrong directories. Could you show me the correct location of BMW ISTA folders ? At this moment I have two main folder on C: drive Rheingold with ISTA Diagnosis which works well. My SQliteDBs and PSdZ folders are in there. ISTA P is installed in a separate folder on C: drive . There is no PSdz subfolder in ISTA P. Is this OK? Cheers cheers

You data should be in the following directory:
%:\ISTA-P\BMW\Services\data\ecudata
