These instructions are only valid for FX Western Europe 2016 V8 and only for the RNS-310!

One-two things first:
1. There is no guarantee that the flash will work. Everything is done at your own risk.
2. You must bring more or less advanced knowledge in the handling of PC's or laptops.

What you need:
- Laptop with an SD card slot (a cardreader if it is compatible, more in step 8)
- a microSD card from Samsung (models are below)
- the map files (FX Western Europe 2016 V8)
- USB stick with Linux (use Ubuntu in this How-To)
- USB stick with the small program "mmc" for flashing the microSD card
1. Format the microSD card in Windows in FAT32 format. It can happen that you only display "NTFS" or "exFAT" with the 64GB versions, then you must get a tool, which can do this. (Fat32 format or HP USB Format Tool)

2. Unpack the Navi card and copy the folder "cryptnav" completely to the microSD card. (This may take longer depending on the PC / laptop)

3.1 Create an Ubuntu USB-Live-Stick (tools are available for "unetbootin", "Universal USB-Installer", etc.)

3.2 Copies the file "mmc" to the other USB stick.

4. Starts from the Ubuntu USB stick in the "live" version, is the first select menu item at "Try Ubuntu"

5. Now insert the microSD card into the SD card slot.

6. Open the "Terminal", in the upper left on the Ubuntu symbol and enter "terminal".

7. now you have to give admin rights. To do this simply sudo -s eigeben

8. Now test whether the SD card slot / cardreader is compatible. To do this, type df
You will now see devices connected to the system.
Very important here: you must see an entry "/ dev / mmcblk *", if you see only one entry with "/ dev / sd **", you know that this cardreader is incompatible.

9. Now you have to test whether the microSD card is compatible. To do this, type the following command
Ls -l / sys / block | Grep mmc
There are now a series of many entries. Look for a line with the "mmc0: 0001" entry, if you find it, you can use the microSD card. If you have an entry with zb. "Mmc0: 59b4", you can stop or test another microSD card.

10. Connect the second USB stick with the "mmc" file and copy the file to the desktop. Now go to the desktop folder in the terminal. To do this cd home / liveuser / Desktop (can be different)

11. Now grant the file extended write permissions. For this, chmod + x mmc

12. Now flip the CID of the microSD card. To
./mmc prog_cid / dev / mmcblk0 0941504146205344021383518c010100

Please note: this CID is only compatible with Western Europe 2016 V8!
If everything went well, the terminal should spit out this issue: Success! Remove and reinstate SD card to check new CID.

13. microSD card out and back in again, then check whether the CID was really flashed. To
Cat / sys / block / mmcblk0 / device / cid
The terminal should now show you the CID that you flashed in step 12. The last two digits can be different, eg. .... c010101 if this is the case, it is not bad.
Compatible microSD cards: The model, as eg. MB-MP32DA, can be found on the back of the package above the barcode)
