The software provided and the procedures proposed are intended for personal, educational and experimental use to install DiagBox 8.xx related updates. I hold no responsibility for any illegal or improper usage. Carry out this procedure at your own risk.

Links are provided in the attachments for 3 compilations "APP_Update_817-837.EXE", "APP_Update_835-838.EXE"و "APP_Update_838-842.exe", "APP_Update_842-846.exe" and "APP_Update_846-847.rar". Those executables are intended to update Lexia and PP2000 components of DiagBox from versions 8.17+ or 8.35 respectively, to the latest 8.42 and will bring Lexia v500.74 and PP2000 v600.80 to latest fixes or support level.

APP_Update_817-837.EXE update should be attempted if you have a working DiagBox v8.17 / v7.81 installation or higher, or if you have a working "APP-835.7z" implementation.

APP_Update_835-838.EXE update should be attempted if you have updated to 8.37 or a working "APP-835.7z" implementation. Update APP_Update_838-842.exe can then be installed.

Procedure:
1- Ensure you have a backup copy of the file "C:\AWRoot\bin\fi\APPDIAG.SYS" before you start.
2- Download and execute the appropriate file for your own setup. The process will copy all necessary files to the updt folder, it will then automatically kill all associated processes to enable overwriting without conflicts.
3- Run DiagBox to start the update process and wait until DiagBox is operational. Close DiagBox and restart your computer to ensure all processes are running.

Done..! you may run DiagBox as usual.. Notice that DiagBox version will NOT be changed by these updates..

Lexia language is set to English and PP2000 to french, if you wish to change them, edit the DICO.TXT file in the EXE folders of LEXIA or OUTILREP (PP2000) and replace "GB" with "FR" or vise versa.

P.S. DiagBox has been running on Firmware 4.3.4 since 7.66/8.02.

Hi Simple!
I updated diagbox 8.35 to 8.37 and received a psaagent error (error.img - see attachment). After I opened the error balloon a could read the `error1.img - see attachment.`
DiagBox is installed on VirtualBox machine, Windows XP, and I used your information for fixing psaagent.exe error on VBox which worked well on 8.35.

Interesting, can you use the "Kill_DiagBox_Tasks.bat" as Administrator and try performing the update again. In fact, you could also try the 8.17 to 8.37. I want to find out if there is a chance that some of the processes were running during the process.

Your issue may be VirtualBox specific, You may wish to take a snapshot before applying the update...

Failing the above, can you give me full info on your setup, what version of VirtualBox, and what is installed on it ?
Do you have .NET 3.51 and VC++ 2008 installed ?
I understand that you did not have issues with 8.35, is this correct? Did you use full APP folder or how did you get to 8.35?
What was your initial system before the upgrade?

On the 18th Nov. PSA released 8.36 92MB when I downloaded it, then on the 23rd it was no longer available for download. Yesterday they released 8.37 which is 67MB, obviously, 8.36 must have been buggy. Now the upgrade path is ....8.30, 31,32,33,35,37... I expect (considering the size reduction between 36 and 37) that a new update will be released soon.

However, I received positive feedback from users on French sites, in fact users are able to Telecode 307 and 308 cars (usually have issues).

Yes, I have NET 3.52 and VC++2008. I tested 8.35 on C5 I, C6, 508 and everything worked great. VBox is last version 5.10. For 8.35 I used your APP folder.
That error apeared when I inserted Lexia. DiagBox it was running, but I didn't checked on the car.
Tomorow I will try to update from 8.17.exe, and I will let you know.

You can still try killing all processes and applying 8.17 to 8.37. What was your DiagBox starting system?? 8.xx or 7.what?

I also have (a) DiagBox v7.72, on Win 7, VirtualBox 5.10. I copied the APP-835 folder, I then installed Update 8.17-8.37 and both Lexia and PPS2000 are running fine.

However, mixing the old locale system (2 characters "EN or GB") and the new system (5 characters "en_GB") results in the the Document and Diagnosis tabs with "id0479-M-Not-Found". It is advisable to use DiagBox v8.17 (or any release higher than 7.72).

Attached snapshot of what is installed (p.s. only one copy of VC++ 2008 is required) .

I applied 8.17 to 8.37 in snapshot with DiagBox 7.82, and everything work fain. I suppose the errors appear when I tried to print a file from Reports tab.

I am glad that all is working fine for you, I am also pleasantly surprised that French users (on French sites) are reporting that they can Telecode problematic cars like 207, 307 and C5 with no problems.

The difference between DiagBox v7.xx and v8.xx systems is that the engines in the V8 APP folder are more recent. For example, V7 are Java6 based and V8 are Java7 based.

Hence, I prefer installing DiagBox 8.01 and upgrading to 8.17, then using the APP_Update_817-837 to bring it to 8.37, since it is DiagBox V8 based, or using APP-835 (which is also V8 based) folder with V7.74+ DiagBox installations (using APP-835 with V7.72 and lower will cause DiagBox Document and Reports tabs NOT to display properly).

I`am using V7.72, so mystery was elucidated. Further I will install DiagBox V8 based.

Yes, I actually released 7.83/8.19 early in the year as an upgrade to 7.82. However, with version 8, I stopped at 8.17 because this was the level where no changes to the original files were needed.

In February 2016, I actually started with 8.20 and as far as I remember got working but the changes were huge that I was not sure if it would function correctly, so I dumped it.

In any case, my car works fine with all current releases. I usually share my work and include explanation, hoping that someone would come with new ideas and add to the work done.

The two updates 8.17-8.37 and 8.35-8.37 are genuinely original, with no corners cut..

This is a Locale coding issue, if you want to demonstrate it to your self, try the following:

Kill all DiagBox processes and navigate to "C:\APP\ddc\" within the APP 835 that you copied then rename the folders bin, config, opt and web to bin835, config835, opt835 and web835.. Now copy the folders bin, config, opt and web from "C:\APP8\ddc\" of 7.72 to "C:\APP\ddc\" and restart the computer.. All will work fine.. or you could rename the ddc folder to ddc835 and copy the ddc from 7.72 and it will also work.

Of course you really don't need to copy the whole folders, it is only few configuration files that need attention, but it is not worth the trouble. You might as well install DiagBox 8.xx and get the whole thing singing from same him sheet.
